Welcome to West Shore Church!

We are a contemporary congregation in West Ashley with a unique vision. We are single-mindedly devoted to reaching people who have, for one reason or another, decided that “church” is not for them.

Too often congregations forget that they exist for the “outsiders”, and not for themselves. For example, people feel as though they practically have to learn a new language in order to be able to communicate with God. Or they find the worship to be confusing with all that standing up, sitting down, kneeling, etc. There is a place for formal worship, no doubt.

But wouldn’t it be nice to have a place to go where you can just be yourself, sit in comfortable surroundings with normal people who live the same lives you do, and search for God’s answers together?

That’s why our sanctuary is arranged more like a “Starbucks” than a traditional church setting with sofas, easy chairs and coffee tables instead of pews and hard chairs. Or on the upper level, if you prefer, there are table tops and stools for your snacks and drinks.

We mean no disrespect in the way we have arranged our space. On the contrary, we believe we are respecting the needs and comforts of men and women who need a familiar-feeling place to “land” while they listen to an awesome band and hear an encouraging message that they can apply to their everyday lives.

We have also created a top-notch, well-manned nursery that is divided into three age groups for the best care available so that parents can relax with confidence as they attend to their own spiritual needs.

You just have to experience it to understand it. So we look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings at 10. When you get here, feel free to look around. It’s a certainty that you will find a place to plug in, if that’s what you’re looking to do. You are also free to be as anonymous as you like while you check things out and see if this is the place for you.
